Teaching Assistant
Job Type: Long-term, Full-time from Monday 8th SeptemberWe are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Chorley. This long-term role involves working on a 1:1 basis with a reception class child who has autism. The position starts on September 8th and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on a child's educational journey.Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to a child with autism, ensuring they engage effectively in learning activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of educational plans that cater to the child's specific needs.
- Facilitate social interactions and help the child integrate more successfully with peers.
- Monitor the child's progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents to help adapt learning approaches as needed.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment that encourages learning and development.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children with autism and effective strategies to support them.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
