3rd Line Network Engineer - WAN Support - Must be eligible for SC Clearance as Sponsorship will be offeredWe are looking for a confident and capable 3rd Line WAN Network Engineer to join a highly skilled team based in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work in a technically rewarding environment, supporting critical network infrastructure and taking ownership of complex implementation and escalation tasks.As a key member of the team, you will be involved in both business-as-usual (BAU) support and project delivery. You'll work with a variety of Juniper platforms and networking technologies, taking responsibility for advanced configuration, troubleshooting and tuning.Key Responsibilities:Support and maintain a secure, global WAN network environmentConfigure Juniper SRX series routers in line with project deadlinesAct as a 3rd line escalation point for network-related incidentsDeliver network implementation and support activities to a "right first time" standardCollaborate with network architects and designers to ensure seamless project deliveryContribute to technical knowledge sharing and upskilling within the 3rd line teamEssential Skills & Experience:Strong hands-on experience with Juniper SRX and MX platforms * Will consider extensive Cisco if no Juniper experienceIn-depth knowledge of Junos OS and CLI configurationAdvanced understanding of BGP, including policy-based routing, load balancing and attribute manipulationStrong troubleshooting experience with IPSEC VPNs and MPLS networksSolid grasp of PKI infrastructure, including certificate-based VPN authenticationStrong knowledge of routing and switching principlesIdeal Candidate Profile:Self-motivated, methodical and technically proficientConfident working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills with a collaborative mindsetA proactive problem solver with strong attention to detailThis is a great opportunity for an experienced 3rd Line Network Engineer to be part of a team delivering secure and innovative network solutions.
