Together, we are responsible for all design, consenting, and environmental services for the integrated scheme.This is a permanent role, with long-term opportunities to work across our diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects in the water and environmental sectors.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Survey Co-ordination Manager to lead a team of survey coordinators supporting a safe, streamlined, and well-integrated survey programme for this major infrastructure project. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of surveys ahead of the DCO submission in late 2026.The successful candidate will:
  • Lead the development and implementation of robust survey coordination processes.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive training and guidance materials.
  • Collaborate with Technical and GIS Leads to ensure survey programmes are free from duplication and overlap.
  • Act as the primary liaison between surveyors and the Lands Team, managing day-to-day communications and logistics.
  • Escalate issues promptly to the Lands Team and Survey Project Manager.
  • Ensure accurate records of all planned, completed, and abandoned surveys are maintained.
  • Provide Thames Water and the Contractor with a weekly forward look of upcoming on-site surveys and visits.
  • Participate in weekly coordination calls to report on survey progress, upcoming requirements, and urgent priorities.
  • Review and approve survey access requests and contribute to the preparation of survey packs for field teams.
Essential RequirementsCandidates should demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
  • A relevant degree
  • Chartered status (or close to obtaining) with a recognised professional institute
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Proven experience in programme or project management
  • Working knowledge of GIS tools and spatial databases
  • A solid understanding of health and safety principles
  • A full UK driving licence
Desirable RequirementsProximity to Oxfordshire (project site) or London (client and JV hub) is beneficial but not mandatory.Experience of managing large-scale survey programmes or land access processes is advantageous.We would welcome applicants of Principal Level and above and we can flex salary based on grade and experience. To ensure full integration ahead of the 2026 survey season, candidates must be available to start by the end of 2025.
