What you will do:
  • Undertake assessments of children and families to determine their needs and identify any risks of harm.
  • Carry out child protection investigations and provide intervention to safeguard children in need.
  • Work with families to develop and implement child protection plans, ensuring their participation and input.
  • Manage a caseload of children and families, maintaining accurate records and case files.
  • Ensure assessments, interventions, and reviews are completed in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Prepare and present cases in meetings, including child protection conferences, court hearings, and multi-agency forums.
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of children and families, providing support where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as those in health, education, and housing services, to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting families.
  • Prepare reports for court proceedings, including assessments, recommendations, and evidence to inform decisions about children’s welfare.
  • Advocate on behalf of children and families, ensuring their voices and views are heard in all proceedings and interventions.
