The firm continues to grow and provides a modern, flexible approach to working.It is now seeking a Senior IP Legal Assistant to join its busy trade marks team on a 16-month fixed-term contract. This role will involve covering a mix of legal assistant and paralegal responsibilities, offering variety and exposure across both day-to-day case management and more senior, independent tasks. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IP trade mark experience who is looking to take on a challenging and rewarding position within a leading practice.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting fee earners with a broad range of trade mark formalities and paralegal tasks
  • Liaising with clients, foreign associates and trade mark offices to progress matters
  • Preparing, filing and reviewing trade mark applications and official forms at the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO
  • Drafting specifications, reviewing examination reports and preparing client correspondence
  • Managing deadlines, reminders and diary systems to ensure key dates are met
  • Preparing portfolio reports, cost estimates and client updates
  • Handling recordal work including assignments, name/address changes and notarisation/legalisation of documents
  • Assisting with oppositions and appeals, including compiling and collating evidence
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members where needed
  • Contributing to process improvements and supporting internal projects
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Trade Mark Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a similar IP support role
  • Strong understanding of UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • High attention to detail and strong written communication skills
  • Proficiency with IP management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach with the ability to take initiative and work independently when required
