Design Engineers are responsible for a variety of interesting and testing designs for new products and improvements to existing products. This will involve using 3D CAD, technical calculations, FEA and using Failure Tree Analysis and other design quality tools.Other responsibilities include:Delivering development projects within the proposed schedulePreparing design concepts, setting and achieving quality, cost and delivery targets, confirming quality (test) and introducing to productionPreparing layout models/drawings and preparing/managing the preparation of detailed drawings, bills of material and sales and service materialSpecifying test requirements, arranging for testing of machines/components and interpreting test results to determine countermeasures requiredControlling subcontracted design activitySolving technical quality problems using Failure Tree Analysis, technical calculations etcCommunicating with customers, suppliers and other company plantsAbout You – Mechanical Design EngineerThis role will suit a self-motivated and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer who is comfortable working to tight deadlines.Other requirements include:Degree qualified in an Engineering subject or equivalentMinimum of five years’ experience in a Design Engineer roleHydraulic experience will be hugely beneficialProficiency with 3D CAD softwareExperience of the development process – concept, layout, testing.Design (Mechanical)Gateshead£49,000 - £64,000 per annum, depending on experience519Design (Mechanical)Gateshead£49,000 - £64,000 per annum, depending on experience519Contact UsYBN, 7-8 Delta Bank Road, Metro Riverside, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, NE11 9DJ
