Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.Applications are invited for this post in Substance Misuse Psychiatry, this post is advertised as a 10-session post however applicants who wish to work less than this will be considered. The successful candidate will provide consultant leadership for adult secondary care Substance Use services for the population of Midlothian the Substance Use Team is a close knit and well-established team which provides an integrated service.This post is based at No 11 St Andrews Street, Dalkeith.Dalkeith is on the outskirts of Edinburgh approximately 7 miles from the city centre.Midlothian covers a population of approximately 98,000, covering a range of housing types and deprivation levels. The team is co-located with the adult mental health and criminal justice teams in a recently opened purpose-built centre.Substance Use Team comprises community psychiatric nursing, support workers, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, social work, Peers, Clinical Support and admin and is managed by the Operations Manager. The service provides for patients over 18 with no upper age limit unless presenting with cognitive impairment. The aims of the team are to provide a range of services to meet the individual needs of the patient group.It is expected that the successful applicant would provide consultant leadership within the community Substance Use team, working closely others service within Midlothian's Integrated Health, social care, and Justice building. The Post holder will responsible RMO for their patients, undertake domiciliary visits, Mental Health Act / Adults Incapacity, and legal work for the patients on their caseload. They will be expected to work closely with consultant colleagues within No11, general practitioners, third sector and other teams. There is also an expectation that the post holder will contribute to strategic development and ongoing development of the local service.
