PermanentGrade 5The Platform Owner runs a team of matrix-allocated Tech Enablement resource, including a mix of internal and supplier resource, to ensure our key technology platforms are efficient and effective in protecting service, enabling change, and maximizing value for Currys.Key purpose of the Platform Owner is to:
  • Own and maintain the target state and roadmap for a given technology platform or set of platforms
  • Maximise the value the platform creates & delivers for Currys by identifying opportunities to leverage capability and championing changes required on the platform
  • Ensure the efficient and effective provision of services to our Service and Delivery teams, including estimation of changes, facilitation of supplier contracts, technical assurance, environment management, and test & release management
  • Manage and influence demand and capacity across the platform working with internal stakeholders and key suppliers
  • Supports creating the overall roadmap and shapes demand for enterprise platform consumption, including demand & capacity management
  • Ensures platform team alignment with the business strategy, roadmap, and platform governance policies
  • Facilitates estimation and prioritisation of changes to the platform
  • Has ownership and oversight of the platform instances, the core platform team, and any escalations
  • Maximises value by identifying additional business outcomes from the platform
  • Ensures processes are in place and adhered to for technical and functional governance of all changes made on the platform
  • Provides delivery assurance, ensuring there is a platform capability for the delivery teams to achieve the strategic and tactical objectives
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Stakeholder Management
  • People Leadership and Management
  • Strategic and Analytical thinking
  • Deep understanding of technical development and testing best practice
  • Deep understanding of iterative delivery practices, including product-oriented delivery
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
  • Strong interest in software technology
  • Up to date with major industry Tech trends
  • Ideally 5 years experience in tech management roles
  • Proven track record of:

  • Governance set up and management
  • Supplier management
  • Solution alignment and cohesion
  • Release & technical change management
  • Demand & capacity management
