Development Team Lead - .NET core/Azure

Their platform supports retail operations at scale, and it’s growing in complexity and capability.What they need now is a skilled Development Team Lead to help keep engineering standards high, support and guide the team, and ensure what gets shipped is robust, scalable, and fit for purpose.This isn’t a people manager role in name only. You’ll be responsible for leading a team, owning their workload, mentoring them, supporting their professional development, and keeping everything on track.You’ll be working closely with the Software Development Manager, DevOps, QA and Product colleagues, with plenty of opportunity to shape how delivery and release processes evolve as the platform expands.Why this role stands out

🔹 Your team is motivated, technically capable, and open to coachingWhat you’ll be doingLeading a small team to support delivery and personal developmentWriting and reviewing code across .NET Core, Web API and SQLCoordinating sprint planning and forecasting with Product and the Development ManagerSupporting CI/CD improvements and release readinessTaking ownership of incident handling, root cause analysis and documentationDriving improvements in coding standards, tooling and secure development practicesWorking with offshore developers and cross-functional teams to ensure consistencyTech landscapeC#, .NET Core, MVC, Web APIAzureSQL Server, Entity FrameworkFront-end exposure to React/Angular (useful but not essential)Infrastructure as Code, DevOps and CI/CD practicesYou’ll thrive in this role if you:
✔ Have 5+ years in .NET development, including technical leadership responsibilities
✔ Are confident mentoring other developers and raising the quality bar
✔ Understand how to manage delivery while staying hands-on

📍 Hybrid working – 2–3 days in the office (rural location, car required)
