The role focuses on supporting childminders with the quality and inclusion of their provision, as well as its sustainability, in alignment with Kent's Early Years and Childcare Service priorities.The position would suit an early years and childcare professional who has previously run their own successful childminding business or has worked in another type of early years and childcare setting. Good knowledge of the Government’s funding schemes to support the cost of childcare would be desirable.Due to the nature of work being carried out, you will be required to visit childcare settings across West Kent and a DBS check (provided by the Company) will be carried out, please consider this before submitting your application.What You’ll Achieve:As a Childminding Quality and Sufficiency Adviser you will:
- Ensure a high-quality, inclusive and integrated service for childminders, adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and statutory frameworks, and through collaboration with colleagues and partners.
- Provide tailored support to childminders and assistants, using statutory guidance and Ofsted frameworks for continuous quality improvement.
- Support all eligible childminders to ensure compliance with local and government requirements for the early years funding.

- Degree level qualification in early years and/or childcare and/or education
- Proven experience of successfully working in early education and/or childcare sector
- A thorough understanding of the current issues facing childminders
- Experience of supporting professionals, sometimes through difficult conversations to make improvements in practice and narrow achievement gaps
- An understanding of Ofsted inspection requirements and processes, the EYFS Framework and legislation and guidance relevant to Early Years and childcare practice
- Good knowledge of the Government’s funding schemes to support the cost of childcare.
- Strong written and oral communicator with good attention to detail including the ability to hold professional dialogue to drive improvement
