This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to take on a leadership role within a high-precision, forward-thinking environment.With a reputation for excellence in engineering and a strong commitment to employee development, this company offers a secure, long-term opportunity for the right candidate.The Role:As Turning Cell Leader, you will be responsible for the preparation, programming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes (Fanuc/G-code) to carry out high-quality turning and drilling operations. You’ll oversee daily production, ensure quality standards are met, and work closely with the Machine Shop Manager to achieve production targets.Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controls – G-code essential)
- Load raw materials and components efficiently into machines
- Carry out precision inspection of finished parts using measuring equipment
- Perform daily machine checks and support preventative maintenance
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality in line with ISO 9001
- Lead by example within the cell, supporting continuous improvement efforts
- Proven experience in CNC lathe programming and setting (Fanuc/G-code)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Confident in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of turning processes and mechanical principles
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, team-focused approach with leadership capability
- £18.00 per hour + regular overtime
