Contract Type: Term Time OnlyAre you a passionate Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?Prospero Teaching are seeking a skilled and motivated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEND school in Chester. The school supports students aged 4 to 19 years, primarily with autism, and some with additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.About the Role:You will play a key role in supporting communication and language development across the school. Working as part of a passionate multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide assessments, deliver individual and group interventions, and collaborate closely with teaching staff and families to help each young person reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed assessments and deliver tailored therapy plans.
- Support the development of communication-friendly environments.
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Collaborate with staff and external agencies to support pupil progress.
- Contribute to EHCPs and attend review meetings as required.
- Train and support school staff in communication strategies.
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or complex communication needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-focused attitude.
- A strong understanding of AAC, PECS, and other alternative communication systems (desirable).
