Job Title: Social Worker - Northumberland North Locality TeamLocation: Berwick upon Tweed, NorthumberlandAbout the Team:Come and join the North locality team, based in Berwick upon Tweed. You'll be part of a supportive team with flexible working conditions in both the office and home working, on a rota basis. You will receive regular supervision with your manager and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues.The RoleWe are looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our team, providing a Statutory Social Work Service within Northumberland. In this role, you will:
  • Promote and support children and/or their families when in crisis or breakdown, helping them to remain with their families or with their identified carers.
  • Provide direct social work intervention to children, young people, and their families in the community.
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families where there are concerns about their safety and well-being.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans.
  • Working closely with families, providing guidance, support, and advocacy.
  • Collaborating effectively with a wide range of professionals, including police, health professionals, schools, and other agencies.
  • Ensuring the child's voice is heard and their rights are protected.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to relevant legislation and policies.
Northumberland are looking for a qualified Social Worker with a passion for supporting children and families. Experience in child protection and family support is highly desirable.
