– Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide direct social work support, ensuring children’s needs align with legislation and policy standards.
– Work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams, including schools, health professionals, and others, to coordinate care and ensure children’s safety.
– Champion the rights and voices of children, advocating for their needs in all decisions impacting their lives.
– Explore and support alternative care arrangements, like fostering or residential care, when children cannot safely remain at home.
– Engage in case reviews, planning meetings, and court proceedings as necessary.
– Maintain meticulous records and documentation in adherence to legal and organisational standards.
– Participate in standby duties on a rotating basis if required.Essential Qualifications and Skills:– Social Work qualification, preferably with HCPC registration.
– Experience working with children and families in social care, particularly in child protection.
– Deep understanding of child development, family dynamics, and relevant legislation.
– Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging effectively with children, families, and partner agencies.
– Proven ability to manage a varied caseload both independently and collaboratively.
– Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries.
