We are recruiting a Sport and Leisure Facilities Operative at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 1 x 19 hours per week & 1 x 20 hours per week
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 3rd May 2026
Location: Y Gwyndy SchoolTeam: Sport and Leisure ServicesThis position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.We pay an attractive salary of £13,137 - £13,345 (19 hours per week) / £13,828 - £14,048 (20 hours per week) and offer access to training and development opportunities.We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Sports and Facilities Operations Assistant based at our Y Gwyndy School campus.The successful candidate will support the daily operation, maintenance, and supervision of the sports facilities including the ATP and Sports Hall, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all clubs and community users.Duties will include equipment setup, health and safety checks, minor maintenance, and assisting with bookings and events.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for sport, good organisational skills, and a proactive attitude. Flexibility for evening and weekend work is essential.Contract 1 - 19 hours per week (Two-week rota):Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 4.30pm-8.30pm/9.30pm, and Sunday 9.30am-4.30pmWeek 2: Wednesday, Thursday 4.30pm-9.30pm and Sunday 9.30am-4.30pm.Contract 2 - 20 hours per week (Two-week rota):Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday 4.30pm-9.30pm and Saturday 8.30am-4.30pm, Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 4.30pm-8.30pm/9.30pm, and Saturday 8.30am-4.30pmThese hours will be worked on a rotating basis, if you require further information on the available hours, please contact the recruiting manager using the details provided below.For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
  • First Aid at Work Certificate.
