Lecturer In Electromechanical EngineeringUxbridgePart time (18 hours per week)Permanent£16,228 to £22,630The Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering School provides our learners with the knowledge and skills required by the engineering industry. We provide an excellent foundation for our learners to progress to the next level, including careers in the engineering sector, apprenticeships and Higher Education.We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our successful team at Uxbridge College as a part time Lecturer. You would teach across a range of courses including Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering from Level 1 to Level 5 including:
  • EAL / City & Guilds
  • BTEC Foundation
  • Diplomas
  • Extended Diplomas
  • T Levels
  • Higher National Certificates and Diplomas in Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
You will need to possess a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related area, and have some teaching or training experience and preferably some industry experience in the subject area. You will also be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of teaching various Engineering subjects in both Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering You will also have good communication skills and be able to engage and motivate young learners aged 16-19.Qualifications:· Degree in Electrical/ Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or related field· GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve· Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. PGCE, DET)** or willingness and ability to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification· Assessor award (e.g. CAVA or equivalent) or willingness to undertake oneKnowledge and Skills:· Up-to-date knowledge of the relevant subject area· Experience of teaching/ training in the subject areaOther Skills:· Ability to engage and inspire vocational learners aged 16-19+· Able to adapt teaching to suit younger learners (16-18) and older learners (18+)· Good written communication skills· Good interpersonal skills· Good classroom practiceWe are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.
