- Working closely clinical teams to oversee the development of research portfolios in line with strategic aims.
- Involve patients and relatives/carers in the process and management of clinical trials utilising established nursing skills.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring meaningful consent is given by all research participants.
- Have respect for patient confidentiality at all times.
- Acknowledge individual participant needs in spiritual, religious and cultural matters.
- Collection of body tissue, such as blood, tumour or urine. Storing and shipping of such tissue.
- Where appropriately qualified and delegated, prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice.

- Evidence of ability to practice as a competent, autonomous practitioner
- Evidence of ability to work as part of a supportive team
- Evidence of ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and visitors
- Evidence of ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to collect research data
- Able to act as an advocate for service users
- Demonstrates an ability to communicate complex information to patients, family and carers in a manner appropriate to the situation
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of related Oncology /Haematology standard treatments currently available
- Understanding of professional nursing issues and NMC code of Practice
- Understanding of clinical governance and its requirements especially with regards to risk management
- Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality
- Recent and extensive experience in an acute setting
- Extensive experience working within clinical trials or oncology & haematology or other related environment in a health care setting
- Evidence of experience in managerial / leadership role
- Understanding of Research Governance
- Understanding of research process
- Previous experience in Oncology / Haematology Clinical
- Registered Nurse/AHP
