The successful candidates will work collaboratively alongside teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide targeted support for individual pupils. You will assist in delivering personalised learning plans designed to enable pupils to access the curriculum effectively, develop key skills, and foster their social, emotional, and behavioural growth.Key Responsibilities:Providing direct support to children with special educational needs during lessons and extracurricular activitiesAssisting in the implementation and monitoring of individualised education plans (IEPs) and tailored interventionsEncouraging positive social interaction, emotional resilience, and appropriate behaviourSupporting pupils’ communication through various approaches and specialised techniquesMaintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes pupil wellbeingCollaborating effectively with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to enhance pupil progressCandidate Requirements:Valid Child Workforce DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one at personal expenseDemonstrable patience, empathy, and excellent communication skillsExperience working with children with special educational needs is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training will be providedAbility to work cooperatively within a team and follow guidance from education and therapy professionalsCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenThis position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic and supportive school community where every child’s potential is recognised and nurtured.If you are dedicated to supporting children with additional needs and seek a rewarding role within a specialist educational setting, please submit your up-to-date CV for consideration.
