All Ages Sexual Offences Examiner/Experienced Forensic PhysicianBase Location: The Solace Centre SARC, SurreyTravel will be a requirement of this role in the surrounding areas.. Weekend working is a requirement. Note some training may also occur at weekendsSalary:£79,497-£92,000 (pro rata)Part Time:8 hours per weekRota: 9.00am-17.00pm Monday-Sunday .   • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
  • Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
  • Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
  • Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
  • Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
  • Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures
Travel for training days will also be a requirement of this role. As a Sexual Offence Medical Examiner, you will learn through clinical placements and blended learning as well as receive further personal support with an allocated mentor. We will identify an individualised programme of education and exposure to clinical environments, providing opportunities for examinations, in addition to financial support whilst undertaking this post.What makes this post different:
  • Flexible rota prioritising educational and development activities
  • 1:1 monthly supervision with allocated mentor, safeguarding supervisor or Line Manager
  • Additionally taking part in research, audit, teaching and sitting FFLM exams will be encouraged.

  • Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
  • A UK driving license is required for this role and access to a vehicle.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required. This requires residency for 3 years in the UK
  • Medical Indemnity by start date is also a requirement.

  • Diploma in Legal Medicine
  • Member of the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine

  • A minimum of 3 years + relevant post Foundation experience.
