Working under the guidance of a Senior Design Manager or the Head of Design Management, you’ll contribute to project-specific design strategies and processes, while building on your own prior experience. You’ll support the management of design deliverables to ensure compliance with client requirements and standards, from pre-construction through to final acceptance and delivery. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs, facilitating interface management across stakeholders, and supporting constructability reviews to optimise design solutions. You’ll also assist with programme planning, attend design and client meetings, and maintain clear records of discussions and actions.Someone coming into this role will be expected to have some previous design management experience but will still be learning new skills. They will be expected to take responsibilities which will increase as they grow within the role. The responsibilities at this level will be mainly administrative but they will also be expected to take ownership of some aspects of design management and will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in those areas. The role will support the Head of Design Management and deputise for specific responsibilities as directed.This role would suit an ambitious, driven individual who embraces the challenge of working within a high performing and supportive team. Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role, ideally coming from a main contractor background.To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Civil Engineering background is desirable
  • Site / Design Management experience
  • HND/HNC/Degree
  • Membership of professional body preferred but not essential
  • Some experience in tendering or design.
  • Some previous design management experience.
  • Some Knowledge of CAD systems and CDE’s-Bentley Microstation /Project wise an advantage
