DescriptionSEN Teaching Assistant - IslingtonLocation: Islington, London Start Date: ASAP Full-Time | Long-Term Role Posted by: Veritas EducationVeritas Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in Islington. This is a full-time role starting immediately, ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups.The Role: * Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
  • Providing 1:1 support to students to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential
  • Leading or assisting in small group interventions
  • Monitoring progress and reporting to relevant staff
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Requirements: * Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
  • Confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable: * Experience with Makaton, PECs, or other SEN-specific strategies
  • Relevant TA or SEN qualifications
  • Experience working in London schools
