This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a subcontractor who specialises in groundworks, remediation, drainage and highways and reinforced concrete projects.Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a Civil Engineering, Steele Frame, drainage and groundworks site in Shrewsbury. This is a 6-month rolling contract, inside IR35, with the opportunity to move on to other upcoming projects.This company see their employees as their most important resource and encourage full involvement to develop their abilities for the benefit of the individual and company.Package offered for this Quantity Surveyor role:· £300 - £350 per day based on experience· Outside IR35· 6 month initial contract with potential for future extension· Flexible hours· Remote working available· Office space in East MidlandsKey responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role:
  • Lead the commercial management of highways contracts from tender to final account
  • Ensure timely application and collection of revenue in line with contract terms
  • Support pre-contract and tender activities, including contract negotiation
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, engagement, and payment processes
  • Monitor and report on project costs, cash flow, and commercial performance
  • Maintain accurate records and produce financial forecasts and reports
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and company standards
  • Identify and report unsafe practices during site visits
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highways or civil engineering
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial best practices
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders effectively
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
