Creating an engaging, forward-thinking teaching approach that prioritizes student experience, progression, and retention.
Leading academic and administrative functions for the gaming programme to align with LCCA's student-focused vision.
Overseeing curriculum design, development, and delivery at Foundation and degree levels, including teaching, learning, and assessment.
Providing academic leadership and mentorship to the teaching team.
Ensuring quality assurance, resource planning, and collaborative working practices.
PositionThe LCCA BA (Hons) Games Development courses are delivered across weekdays during daytime hours only. There is no evening or weekend teaching. Candidates are expected to be available for scheduled teaching and academic duties during standard weekday hours, in line with timetabling and course requirements.Subject-specific areas include (but are not limited to):

Teach a full load across all levels (4-6 essential; L3 & L7 desirable) in your specialist area.
Maintain high educational and professional standards in teaching, delivery, and curriculum development.
Manage course responsibilities including lesson planning, teaching, assessment, timetabling, resource planning, and administration, working closely with the Course Director.
Oversee assessment standardisation, marking, and feedback consistency.
Provide academic and pastoral support to students, monitor progress, and maintain records.
Keep strong links with industry and professional bodies to stay updated and maintain expertise.
Contribute to curriculum development and cross-disciplinary teaching strategies.
Use College ICT tools to enhance learning and organisational effectiveness.
Engage in research, scholarship, or professional practice relevant to the discipline.
Attend and contribute to meetings and examination boards; assist in organising course-related activities.
Support and coordinate projects with the Course Director to enrich student experience.
Contribute to annual course monitoring and continuous improvement.
Manage teaching and assessment programmes, liaising with staff as needed.
Support implementation of College policies on teaching, learning, and curriculum development.
Perform other duties as assigned within the College.

Experience of teaching & assessment in a Higher Education environment
Experience of curriculum design and development and the creation of course materials that support student development
Experience of an innovative and inclusive approach to teaching in Higher Education, contributing to student success
Experience of leading and managing education (people, curriculum, quality
& standards, students, recruitment)
Experience of teaching the discipline in a HE environment
Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice contributes to the advancement of the Discipline and is relevant to the goals of the Course, College and Creative Industries as a whole
Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaborations
Other informationQualifications/EducationEssential
Relevant BA (Hons) degree in Games Design, Games Art, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in the games industry
Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MA/MSc in a relevant field or equivalent industry-recognised credentials)
Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent)
Proficiency with industry-standard tools and software, such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Adobe Suite, Blender, or similar
Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary game development pipelines and/or workflows
Desirable
PhD or Higher-level research degree in a relevant subject area
Fellowship (or higher) of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, SFHEA, etc.)
Industry experience in a game studio or as an independent developer
Experience supervising undergraduate projects or game production teams
Awareness of current and emerging trends in the games industry (e.g. live services, XR, AI integration, accessibility in games)
Experience with curriculum development or validation processes
Published work or industry recognised contributions (e.g. released games, exhibitions, conference talks, journal articles)
