Start Date: September 2025Location: Christchurch, DorsetContract: Full-time, Term-Time OnlyA well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2025.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people in their learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to provide classroom-based and 1:1 support across Key Stages 3 and 4.Key Responsibilities:Support students in accessing the curriculum and making progress in lessonsWork with individuals or small groups of students under the direction of the class teacherAssist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activitiesPromote a positive and inclusive learning environmentHelp manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm and supportive atmosphereLiaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to provide consistent supportThe ideal candidate will:Be enthusiastic, reliable, and patientHave strong communication and interpersonal skillsBe confident working with secondary-aged studentsBe proactive and able to use their initiativeHave a genuine interest in education and supporting young peoplePrevious experience working in a school setting or with young people is desirable but not essential.
