We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic individual to join our specialist Young Adult Service at Dougie Mac. Whether you have experience as a Support Worker, Youth Worker, SEN Teaching Assistant, Life Skills Mentor, or you have an interest in working with young adults – we’d love to hear from you.Our growing and specialist Young Adult Service have an exciting opportunity for a Care Support Worker to join our dedicated and supportive team. You'll work with inspiring young adults with life-limiting and complex health needs, helping them develop independence, explore new experiences, and live with dignity, choice and opportunity.About the RoleAs a Care Support Worker, you’ll support young adults aged 18 - 35 in a vibrant, nurse-led service that blends clinical care with personal development and social support. You’ll work as part of a supportive team – never in isolation – delivering holistic, person-centred care that truly matters.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting daily routines, communication, and personal care needs
  • Delivering meaningful activities tailored to each young adult’s interests
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills development
  • Working alongside families, nurses, therapists, and volunteers
  • Supporting home or community visits when required
  • Maintaining high standards of dignity, respect, and professional boundaries
What We’re Looking ForYou don’t need to have worked as a Support Worker before – we’re more interested in the person you are. If you have the right values, attitude, and motivation, we’ll give you the training and support to build the skills.We’d love to hear from you if you:
  • Are naturally caring, calm, and confident working with people who may communicate or engage in different ways
  • Want to help others develop independence, build life skills, and enjoy new experiences
  • Can work well as part of a team and bring a positive, flexible attitude
