Sliding Head Operator – Setter, Operator & Programmer (Citizen Lathes)Location: Essex Pay Rate: £18–£20 per hour + Overtime (1.5x) Hours: Monday–Thursday: 7am–4pm, Friday: 7am–12pm (Overtime available: 1–2 hours per day) Holidays: 5 weeks paid holidayHudson Shribman is seeking a skilled Sliding Head Operator to join a precision engineering firm supplying high-spec components to aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. You’ll be working on Citizen sliding head lathes, known for their high-speed, multi-axis capabilities and Fanuc control systems, producing small to medium batch components with tight tolerances.Key Responsibilities:Set, operate, and program Citizen CNC sliding head lathes (Fanuc controls)Read and interpret complex engineering drawingsMake in-process adjustments to maintain precision and qualityConduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issuesCollaborate with QC and support teams to ensure production standardsExperience with STAR sliding head machines is a bonusWhat’s on Offer?Competitive hourly rate (£18–£20 per hour)Overtime at 1.5x rate (1–2 hours available daily)Early finish on Fridays (12pm)5 weeks paid holidayFree parking, uniform, and drinksPension scheme and development opportunitiesInterested?
