Are you passionate about delivering world leading ageing research and an exceptional student experience?We are seeking a Clinical Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine to take a senior leadership role within the Ageing and Stroke Research team, including developing the strategic direction for new research and increasing grant income. This is a very exciting opportunity to join an internationally recognised centre for applied ageing research, foster collaborative relationships within the University and with NHS partners and shape the strategic development of an established Academic Unit.The post will be based within the Academic Unit for Ageing and Stroke Research (ASR), an interdisciplinary research team of around 40 staff, led by Professor Andy Clegg. The ASR is part of Leeds Institute of Health Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Leeds, based within Bradford Institute for Health Research (BIHR) at Bradford Royal Infirmary.You will contribute to the development and leadership of a multi-disciplinary research programme therefore it is anticipated that the successful candidate will have clinical academic expertise in geriatric medicine, and either a broad interest in ageing research methods or expertise in a particular aspect of methodology, for example, qualitative research, medical/social statistics/health data science, advanced evidence synthesis, behaviour change or intervention development.Applicants should have a doctoral degree (PhD or MD(Res)) or equivalent experience in applied ageing research and be familiar with working in a multidisciplinary research environment. The successful applicant will be an experienced researcher with a significant publication record and grant capture.
