£50,000 – £65,000 + BenefitsNEOS Recruitment are working exclusively with a leading M&E & HVAC contractor delivering a high-profile, large-scale project in Newcastle. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of the mechanical building services package, overseeing every stage from design to installation, commissioning, and long-term operational planning.The RoleAs a Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring mechanical systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet project specifications, budgets, and timescales. You’ll manage multiple stakeholders while delivering innovative, energy-efficient, and compliant solutions.Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating and developing project contracts and agreeing terms with clients
- Commissioning, organising, and assessing contractor performance
- Working with and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and diagrams
- Using CAD and BIM systems for accurate project coordination
- Managing budgets and forecasting spend using whole life cycle costing techniques
- Designing site-specific mechanical equipment where required
- Overseeing installation, specifying maintenance and operating procedures
- Monitoring building systems performance and recommending improvements
- Making decisions on replacement or relocation of expired systems
- Liaising with architects, engineers, surveyors, and in-house project teams
- Attending project group and technical meetings
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, health & safety standards, and environmental goals
- Advising clients on energy use and carbon footprint reduction strategies
- Managing multiple mechanical projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness
- Proficiency in 3D visualisation, CAD, BIM, and IT systems
- HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, Built Environment, or a related discipline
- Relevant project management and health & safety certifications desirable
- Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 DOE
