
Mechanical Fitter

- Assemble, fit, and install mechanical parts and subassemblies according to technical drawings and work instructions.
- Perform mechanical inspections and functional testing of assembled components.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools with precision.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Follow strict health, safety, and quality assurance procedures, including aerospace-specific regulations.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to ensure timely delivery of components.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges), and fitting techniques.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is desirable.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant mechanical engineering or fitting qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship) is preferred. However, not essential.
