Van / LCV Technician - Move into HGVs - Fareham, Hampshire
  • Basic Salary from £15.00 p/h + £2.20 shift allowance (£17.20 p/h effective)

Our client, a well-established and growing Dealer Group in Fareham, are expanding their team to support a new customer contract of over 70 vehicles. With a Workshop team of 10 already in place, they are now looking to strengthen their evening and late-shift coverage.This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Van / LCV Technician who wants to take the next step and build a career in HGV/Truck maintenance. With full manufacturer training provided, you'll have the chance to transition into the higher-paid HGV world - without needing prior HGV brand experience.What's in it for you as a Van Technician?
  • Competitive starting rate from £15.00 p/h + £2.20 shift allowance (£17.20 effective).
  • Clear pathway to progress into HGV Technician level, with pay rising up to £21.32 p/h + £2.20 shift allowance (£23.50 effective) as you upskill.
  • Shift options to suit you: either permanent lates
  • Work with a highly skilled team in modern, well-equipped facilities.
  • Ongoing training through both manufacturer programmes and in-house academy sessions.
Duties of a Van / LCV Technician with our Client:
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and inspections on vans during evening shifts.
  • Support the HGV Technicians by taking on van work to free up their capacity.
  • Work towards developing your skills in HGV/Truck diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate job records and ensure compliance with workshop procedures.
What our Client expects of their Van / LCV Technicians?
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance - essential.
  • A flexible attitude to work evenings and late shifts.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn HGV skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
