
Head of Installations (EV Charging)

- Build the near-home rollout plan by region/framework using data-led site identification (GIS demand, driveway probability, constraints) and authority priorities; set quarterly socket targets and critical path.
- Site identification, surveys & approvals
- Oversee long-/short-listing, desktop and on-site surveys; secure permits (TRO/TTRO/Section 50), wayleaves and traffic management; coordinate DNO capacity checks and ICP quotes; embed PAS 1899 accessibility principles in designs.
- Lead delivery across framework contractors with clear method statements, RAMS and quality gates; run weekly progress controls, risk/issue logs and change control; drive first-time-right installations and adherence to streetworks compliance.
- Oversee selection of suitable EVSE per site (including UEone and other form factors), balancing accessibility, grid constraints and whole-life value; align with procurement strategies and business case requirements.
- Ensure pre-commissioning tests, firmware/config baselines, CPMS onboarding, as-builts and asset registers; accept sites only when they meet Urban Fox Employers' Requirements; manage snag/defect resolution.
- Execute clean handovers to Network Operations, including spares, warranty data, configuration
- Champion Zero Harm; ensure CDM roles are fulfilled; manage audit actions; maintain risk registers and business continuity for critical delivery activities.
- Own delivery budgets/forecasts; approve variations; run supplier QBRs; support Gate approvals, procurement processes and funding/business-case submissions for LA programmes.
- Oversee resident communications and issue resolution; chair LA delivery reviews; ensure transparent updates to ward councillors and community stakeholders.
- Proven leadership of streetworks-based programmes (on-street EV, utilities, highways or street lighting) delivering at scale for local authorities.
- Deep understanding of site selection for near-home on-street charging (surveys, constraints, accessibility, resident needs) and approvals (TRO/permits, Section 50), with working knowledge of NRSWA.
- Supplier leadership of framework civils/electrical contractors and ICPs/iDNOs; robust performance/QBR discipline.
- Strong grasp of DNO processes, commissioning, CPMS onboarding and acceptance documentation; hands-on CDM and H&S leadership.
- Excellent stakeholder skills (authorities, councillors, residents) and clear, proactive communications; experience engaging the public.
- Experience with procurement processes and supporting funding/business case development for LA programmes
- Familiarity with near-home CPO practices (on-street/kerbside delivery models) and CPMS platforms; experience embedding PAS 1899 accessibility.
- APM PMQ/PMP; NRSWA Supervisor/Accreditation; SMSTS/NEBOSH; GIS literacy for site selection.
