
Principal Mechanical Engineer

- ️ Deliver technical excellence in specifying, producing, and assessing design packages for infrastructure.
- Define reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure systems.
- Assess work control procedures for infrastructure maintenance.
- ️ Evaluate infrastructure design, material state, and ageing mechanisms to ensure continued safe operation of facilities.
- ️ Promote a robust safety and security culture in all work practices.
- Act as an intelligent customer, ensuring safety-related contracts meet all requirements.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with knowledge of mechanical systems like pump systems, cranes, HVAC, pressure systems, and diesel generators.
- ⚛️ Experience in the nuclear or other high-hazard industries (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to develop practical, creative, and cost-effective solutions for design changes/modifications to plant infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of British and international design standards.
- Proven ability to make evidence-based decisions using multiple data sources.
- ️ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- ⏳ Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize your workload.
- HNC or equivalent qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for mechanical/electronic Infrastructure within the nuclear or a similar high-hazard industry.
- Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience.
- Degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
