Location: Warrington, on-site.We’re looking for a QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function at our Warrington site. Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring food safety, product quality, and compliance with BRC standards.You’ll oversee our Quality Management System (QMS), allergen management, hygiene standards, and GMP improvements, working closely with operational teams to maintain and enhance standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of QA and Hygiene Supervisors and Operatives, while acting as deputy to the Group Technical Manager when needed.Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the site Quality Assurance function, ensuring compliance with BRC, HACCP, legal, and customer requirements
- Oversee and maintain the site QMS, allergen management, pest control, and internal auditing programmes
- Manage and develop a team of Supervisors and Operatives, fostering performance, training, and engagement
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive GMP, food safety, and product quality improvements
- Act as deputy to the Group Technical Manager, providing site leadership and decision-making when required
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, complaints, and incidents, ensuring effective corrective actions
- Prepare for and support site audits, ensuring ongoing readiness for BRC, customer, and regulatory inspections
- Guide and support hygiene standards, working closely with the Hygiene Supervisor and team
- Analyse quality and food safety data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Represent the Technical team in projects, meetings, and initiatives, ensuring food safety and quality remain top priorities
- Experienced leader with proven success managing multi-level teams and cross-functional relationships
- Skilled in maintaining and developing Food Safety & Quality Management Systems to BRC standards
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and food safety risk assessment
- Experienced in auditing, non-conformance management, and root cause analysis
- Understanding of hygiene standards, cleaning processes, and hygiene supervision
- Proficient in GMP auditing and continuous improvement initiatives
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities
- Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills at all levels
- Highly organised with great attention to detail
- Competent in Google Workspace and other relevant software
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field (or equivalent)
- Level 3 HACCP certification
- Level 3 Food Safety certification
- Auditor qualification
