- Educated to GCSE level A* - D or equivalent in Mathematics & English
- Willingness to complete further training to complement and support specified role
- Level 2 NVQ/QCF or equivalent in healthcare related subject
- Previous experience of working in a health care setting and understanding of equality and diversity and compassionate care
- Effective skills in communication when dealing with difficult/vulnerable people
- Experience of complying with legislation, policies and procedures
- Experience of working in an ever changing environment
- Experience of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Demonstrate a person centred approach
- Previous Phlebotomy experience
- Compassionate, caring, empathetic and understanding.
- Professional and positive demeanour, smart appearance, hardworking, flexible, reliable and good communicator
- Attention to detail and accuracy, for example, completing patient identification checks
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. To work well under pressure whilst ensuring that the patient is always the first priority
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for long periods of time
- Geographical knowledge of the Calderdale area.
- Access to a car is required with business insurance
- Ability to learn from mistakes
