Responsibilities and dutiesReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Co-ordinating contractors on site to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
- Tain contractors on site in the performance on their role and ensure all necessary training records are up to date
- Carry out fault diagnosis on site and rectify as required
- Ensure the maintenance plans and targets are achieved
- Conduct plant inspections and safety inspections
- Carry out risk assessments
- Maintain and develop industrial relations with contractors through effective communication
- Ideally have a mechanical engineering qualification such as City and Guilds or NVQ
- A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
- Prior experience working in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.
- Experience in managing contractors
- Excellent communication skills
- Good stakeholder management experience
