We are looking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer to work within a fast paced manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Wakefield. The successful Maintenance Engineer will work on the buildings maintenance and be well versed across electrical, mechanical and joinery work.Maintenance Engineer / Facilities Management / Maintenance / Electrical / MechanicalKey Responsibilities
  • Ensure the site complies with relevant health & safety, environmental, and legal standards.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Manage budgets for facilities-related work and keep accurate records.
  • Support continuous improvement projects related to site infrastructure and equipment.
  • Act as the point of contact for emergency repairs and urgent maintenance needs.
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance, repairs, and minor installation work (electrical, mechanical, and joinery).
  • Manage all site facilities including buildings, equipment, utilities, and services.
  • Oversee contractors for larger-scale maintenance and compliance-related works.

  • Strong practical skills in electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance (joinery skills a bonus).
  • Good knowledge of building services and statutory compliance (e.g., fire systems, HVAC, water hygiene).
  • Experience managing contractors and service providers on-site.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and problem
  • Proven experience in a facilities management role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
