Futures Recruitment are looking to appoint a Production Supervisor for a leading manufacturing business. The successful Production Supervisor will lead and optimise the daily operations of the production team. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a small team of operatives and team leaders while coordinating cross-functional efforts to meet production goals and support lean initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards through inspections, audits, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement a leadership and development programme with the Production Manager and HR to enhance team and individual performance.
  • Lead, train, and mentor team members to promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain succession plans to ensure long-term business sustainability.
  • Allocate work orders and monitor progress to ensure timely task completion and adherence to production deadlines.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement lean-based strategies to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quality control logs, attendance, and operational reports.
  • Report regularly on production performance, quality metrics, risks, and improvement plans to senior management.
  • Ensure smooth cross-departmental coordination to meet overall production targets.
Skills and Qualification
  • Understanding of lean principles and a proven track record of driving improvements.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with production tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
