Shovel Driver Foreman- CraigantletThe Materials Division of Northstone (NI) Limited is one of the leading quarry, civil engineering and road contractors operating in Northern Ireland and Border Counties. We are looking for a Shovel Driver Foreman to join our team at North Down Quarry in Newtownards.The successful candidate will lead and coordinate day-to-day operations for Recycled Asphalt Planings (RAP) and general production activities. This role will be responsible for managing RAP, overseeing material handling and ensuring efficient production processes. The Shovel Driver Foreman will act as a key link between management and operators, ensuring that safety, quality and productivity standards are achieved.About the roleKey ResponsibilitiesSupervise, coordinate and support plant and quarry operatives on site;Manage the receipt, handling and stockpiling of RAP and concrete waste materials;Oversee the safe and efficient feeding of crushers, screens and production equipment;Ensure correct segregation of materials and compliance with environmental and quality standards;Monitor production output;Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections and basic maintenance of mobile plant;Lead by example in promoting a strong safety-first culture across site activities;Complete relevant documentation and maintain accurate operational recordsWork as part of an established team.RequirementsProven experience operating and supervising plant operations within a quarry, recycling or heavy construction environment;Valid shovel driver ticket;Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations;Experience in overseeing production or recycling activities (RAP/ Concrete processing preferred)Good communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team;Strong teamwork and leadership skills;Organised and proactive in managing workloads and people;Practical problem solving skills with a hands on approach;Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands.BenefitsHealth Cash Plan30 days holiday per annumPension Scheme with Company contributionCompany Occupational HealthFamily Friendly PoliciesTo apply for this role, please submit an up to date CV no later than Monday 15th September 2025.The Company is committed to equality and diversity.
