We transform the industry to make glass more relevant and more accessible to more people.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Day Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Harlow, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for inspections, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, as well as participating in continuous improvement projects within our facility.
- Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment
- Perform adjustments and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects
- Prioritize safety and adhere to safe working practices at all times
- Respond promptly to mechanical issues during daytime hours to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance schedules
- Assist in the installation and setup of new mechanical equipment
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas for process improvements
- Engineering Apprenticeship
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial setting
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including grinders, drill presses, calipers, micrometers, protractors, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, and scrapers
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and industry best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in industrial environments
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required to ensure manufacturing process safety
- Physical ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights

- From £17.02 per hour, increasing with qualifications in line with our Union Agreement
