Make an impact as a 1:1 TA!GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child in a school in Sheffield. As a 1:1 TA, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to offer personalised support, enabling a pupil with special educational needs to achieve their full potential within a caring and supportive learning environment.As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing direct one-to-one support tailored to the needs of an individual pupil.
  • Assisting with learning activities and adapting resources to match the child’s abilities.
  • Supporting the pupil’s emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress.
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in daily learning tasks.
  • Ensuring the pupil feels safe, supported, and included in all school activities.
To be successful as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you should:
  • Have previous experience supporting children, ideally on a one-to-one basis.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable to changing needs.
  • Possess strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
