The role within a multidisciplinary team is to support patients to exercise safely and effectively following a Myocardial Infarction, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Valve repair/replacement and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions in community venues.To provide highly specialized assessment and exercise prescription for patients with complex needs, and to provide exercise advice, guidance, and information.To provide a specialized resource for other staff and health care professionals.To take a lead in the provision of exercise prescription and delivering the exercise component of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in a variety of delivery models.Main duties of the job
To assist in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of effective evidence-based exercise, to patients with coronary artery disease, in community venues.
To carry out individual patient functional capacity assessments using standardized exercise assessment tools recognized by British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).
To conduct screening and a comprehensive assessment, including interpretation of clinical investigations, conducting appropriate submaximal tests to provide a baseline assess of functional capacity and apply this to exercise programming.
To carry out individual mobility assessments and risk stratification.
To interpret and evaluate functional capacity modifying individual exercise programs for comorbidities.
