As part of this unique hybrid role, you will also work towards obtaining your Personal License Holder qualification, enabling you to perform regulated procedures under the Animal Scientific Procedure Act.About Mars Waltham Pet Science Institute: Located just 5 miles from Melton Mowbray, our institute offers a vibrant and supportive environment for pet-focused research. We delve into multiple disciplines, including nutrient requirements for pets, the dog and cat microbiome, biomarkers of health and disease, and feeding behavior.What are we looking for:Either registered, or eligible to be registered, with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).Possession of a Bachelor (BSc) or Foundation (FdSc) degree or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.Confidence in providing triage, medical, and surgical emergency nursing, inpatient care (including pediatrics and seniors), and anesthetic monitoring.An unwavering commitment to teamwork and the ability to excel independently.A passion for learning and a willingness to develop new skills, such as phlebotomy, in line with our culture of care approach.Available for 1:4 weekends and 1 night a week on callKey Responsibilities:Deliver exceptional medical and surgical veterinary nursing care to our diverse population of 200 cats and 200 dogs, working closely with our experienced Vets and Nurses.Provide expert triage, medical, and surgical emergency nursing, and support inpatient care for pets of all ages and conditions.Demonstrate your dedication by responding to queries, weekends, and evenings, with on-call responsibilities (approximately 1 weekend in 4 and 1 night per week).Skillfully perform trial-related procedures on our cherished canine and feline residents, ensuring high-quality and timely execution under the guidance of our Named Trainer and Competency Officer at Waltham.
