This is a new post and offers an exciting opportunity to join the innovative POPS team (Perioperative Older People Service). The team sits jointly with the Urology and General Surgery Teams.Taking part in the on-call rota is optional for the post holder.Main duties of the jobThe POPS team provide preoperative assessment and optimisation for high-risk patients undergoing elective and emergency surgery and follow the patient through the surgical admission coordinating and delivering medical care, rehabilitation and discharge planning. It is a multidisciplinary team comprising consultants, clinical nurse specialists and therapists.
