SMT Manufacturing Technician

Job Overview:
The role involves executing the manufacturing processes necessary for assembling Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and ensuring that the final products meet established quality standards to fulfil customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate SMT lines while achieving specified efficiency and maintaining process quality.
  • Confirm that products comply with IPC 610 standards for the relevant class.
  • Prepare and manage process control documentation, including initial inspections.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and other technicians to troubleshoot issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Familiarize yourself with departmental production targets.
  • Complete required documentation and update databases in line with quality management system protocols.
  • Adhere to all procedures relevant to the manufacturing process.
  • Uphold high workmanship and product standards, minimizing waste and rework outside of design specifications.

  • Interest in electronics and manufacturing processes.
Previous Experience:
  • Experience of running pick and place machines, MyData, Dek, Jet printer, SPI,X-ray and reflow ovens ( not necessarily all but some )
  • Preferable creating DEK, SPI, Jet printer programs, not essential as training will be given
  • Good component recognition skills
  • Previous experience of package creation would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in working from circuit and Engineering drawing
