- Maintaining the integrity and performance of Cisco firewall, VPN, and identity-based access systems.
- Administering Cisco firewall infrastructure (ASA, FTD) and ensuring configurations meet security and operational standards.
- Collaborating with third-party service providers to deliver managed firewall and security services.
- Supporting the design and troubleshooting of site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
- Integrating and managing Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and segmentation.
- Monitoring performance using dashboards and logs, and generating reports for operational and compliance purposes.
- Ensuring all changes follow established change management processes.
- Driving resolution of network security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Aligning current practices with future-state architecture, including Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) models.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
- Hands-on management of Cisco firewall technologies (ASA, FTD, FMC).
- VPN configuration and administration (site-to-site and remote access).
- Experience with Cisco ISE for policy enforcement and access control.
- Familiarity with network security architecture including segmentation, NAT, ACLs, and intrusion prevention.
- Working with third-party managed services and vendors.
- Operating in ITIL-aligned environments (incident, change, and problem management).
- Exposure to SASE principles and cloud-delivered security models (e.g., ZTNA, SWG, CASB).
- Use of network monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Cisco SecureX, Splunk, SolarWinds).
- Participation in security audits, compliance assessments, or risk management initiatives.

- Hold certifications such as CCNA (Security or Enterprise) and Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and security protocols.
- Ideally possess additional certifications such as CCNP Security, Cisco CyberOps Associate, ITIL Foundation, or CompTIA Security+.
- Be familiar with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS and their networking/security models.
- Communicate effectively across teams and with stakeholders, contributing to strategic initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes.
