Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: Dependent on skills and experienceAn alternative provision in Burnley is looking to appoint a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated pastoral care to students with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who may struggle to thrive in a mainstream setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and supported throughout the school day.Key Responsibilities:Offer daily pastoral support to students, helping to create a positive and nurturing environment.Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils, promoting emotional resilience and self-esteem.Work closely with teaching staff, support workers and external professionals to ensure the holistic needs of each student are met.Contribute to behaviour management and intervention strategies using a restorative and trauma-informed approach.Assist with the development and delivery of personalised support plans tailored to individual student needs.What We’re Looking For:Experience working with young people, ideally within a school, alternative provision, or similar setting.A calm, patient and empathetic approach.Understanding of SEMH needs, safeguarding practices, and the importance of pastoral care.Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.If you are interested in this position, please click apply now and you will be contacted within 48hours to discuss next steps.
