- Holds National Care Certificate or be willing to undertake (Band 2 Whilst Training)
- National Care Certificate
- Functional Skills level 1 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent
- Experience working in a healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact.
- Ability to work with staff from a diverse range of Backgrounds
- Ability to work alone or in small team
- Understanding of team working
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal vital signs readings and know how to escalate concerns
- Key numeric and literacy knowledge
- Understanding the importance of patient confidentiality
- Awareness of keeping the clinical environment safe and clean
- Experience of working within a health care environment.
- Understanding about radiology procedures (MRI, CT, Ultrasound) and respective preparation for those
- Demonstrate through previous experience the ability to escalate concerns
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
- Understanding of risk management and Health Safety issues, including manual handling
- Good communications skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to communicate with a range of different people, including service users, carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to undertake vital signs measurements, including GCS, in line with the policy
- Ability to provide patients with an environment that supports privacy and dignity, equality and diversity
- Able to work on own initiative, following direction/supervision by a Registered Healthcare Practitioner.
- Effective use of electronic solutions to support the delivery of patient care
- General administration skills
- Able to use different IT systems
- Ability to undertake blood glucose measurements and know how to escalate concerns
- Ability to undertake ECGs in line with policy and know how to record and report results
- Ability to collect blood samples
- Committed to delivering high standards of patient care.
- Ability to deal with challenging situations and different personalities
