Cambridge University Handball Club is a growing and ambitious club, home to both a men's and a women's team. Both teams currently compete in the BUCS Midlands Tier 1, and with 20 enthusiastic players maintain a squad structure that supports player development and optimises team performance. One of the highlights of our season is the annual Varsity Match against Oxford - a fiercely competitive and historic rivalry.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Handball Coach to lead our training sessions, support the development of players across all levels, and contribute to the ongoing success of the club.Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality coaching to a mixed-gender student club, fostering:
  • Skill development
  • Tactical understanding
  • Fitness and conditioning
  • Team cohesion and competitive readiness
All within a safe, inclusive, and supportive training environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead two mixed training sessions per week during Cambridge University term time
  • Design and deliver sessions suitable for players with varying levels of experience
  • Provide individual feedback to help players progress and develop
  • Prepare the team for BUCS league matches and the annual Varsity Match
  • Encourage a positive, inclusive, and committed team culture
  • Collaborate with the club committee on training schedules and development plans
Requirements:
  • Experience coaching handball, ideally with mixed or student teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of player safety, warm-up routines, and injury prevention
  • Availability during Cambridge University term time
