- Leading the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in line with national, regional, and local policies.
- Driving service improvement and learning through clinical governance processes, including audit, incident review, and patient feedback.

- Maintaining oversight of staffing levels, skill mix, and safe rostering across the service areas. Hold delegated budgetary responsibility for the Cardiology Department and AMDU.

- Ensure that employment policies and procedures of the Trust are followed.
- Participate in selection and appointment of staff as appropriate.
- Monitor sickness/absence levels and take appropriate action to reduce. Support the Band 7 nurses/midwifery/practitioner in managing absence.
- Promote staff development through regular performance reviews and personal development plans.
- Maintain own professional development and keep up to date with nursing/midwifery/practitioner practice. Development in terms of masters modules or leadership program,
- Ensure that the education, training, and professional development needs of nursing/midwifery/practitioner staff are identified, and appropriate plans are in place to meet these needs. Participate in the training of staff as appropriate.
- Ensure that staff are compliant with their statutory and mandatory training.
- Liaise with the University of East Anglia and other education providers to facilitate the provision of placement of learners
- Ensure that employment policies and procedures of the Trust are followed.
