Job Title: Stock Controller / Van DriverLocation: Govan, GlasgowSalary: £24,000 per annumWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pmContract: Temporary to PermanentMain Purpose of Job:The primary goal of this position is to effectively help and support the WESCOAnixter Vendor Managed System processes and procedures according to the Vendor Managed Inventory Customer Direct Line Feed agreement. The role involves aligning with company objectives, implementing VMI systems, improvements, and upholding established procedures and policies.Job Description
  • Assessing the resources and material required to meet project implementation targets.
  • Self-sufficient in utilising continuous improvement tools independently
  • Computer skills in Microsoft office applications, i.e., Word/Excel – (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks effectively.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute project plans.
  • Building and maintaining productive business relationship internally and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently.
  • Full UK driving License (Mandatory).
  • Forklift License desirable (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Flexibility to work remotely and offsite at customer locations.
  • Resolving discrepancies and addressing customer queries effectively until achieving customer satisfaction
  • Three -year warehouse operations experience (preferred)
  • Organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Valuing good housekeeping and cleanliness and taking the necessary steps to uphold company’s reputation.
  • Conducting regular VMI customer audits and VMI system reviews (training will be provided)
  • Maybe required to travel and stay overnight to support Project(s) outside of local region.
Working Environment:The job entails working at regional customer sites and in general warehouse settings with most of the tasks being carried out in a warehouse environment. Time spent at customer location will be based on the project requirements.Physical requirements:
  • You will be on your feet most of the shift.
  • Engaging in physical work primarily Logistics Operations, Warehouse Distribution, Project Implementation.
  • Tasks include Picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Anixter vendor managed system installations involves lifting, decanting, and labelling.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Employee may need to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Employee are required to drive a motor vehicle as part of their job duties.
